There is a never-ending race between “Antibiotics” and bacterial infections. You may be aware that the more we use these antibiotics the quicker the bacteria mutates. This results in the antibiotic become being of no use. This is an ongoing struggle for the health sector. Many doctors are reluctant to prescribe this type of medication nowadays if they feel you can fight off the illness yourself. There are forms of bacteria out there that are becoming resistant to antibiotics.
It seems that the antibiotic has an ally in this war and it comes as no surprise to many that Cannabidiol is involved. CBD does work with your body’s own endocannabinoid system and research is ongoing in this area. A research team in Denmark has discovered that CBD and Antibiotics work well together. A bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus was combined with CBD and it seemed to produce a more powerful effect. This meant that fewer antibiotics were needed to kill off a certain number of bacteria. Staph infections are huge issues in hospitals and they can be fatal. Tens of thousands have died from this type of infection in the last number of years.

There is obviously a greater need to study way more about this and as with all things CBD and Cannabis we have just started. Please don’t think that you can go off now and lower your medications by taking more CBD. However, it is great to see that CBD is being looked at by the very industries that were calling it snake oil not so long ago.
