Misconceptions About Meditation

Perhaps the biggest misconception with meditation is the fact that your mind must be blank and somehow you must be thinking of nothing. This leads to a lot of frustration for people who are trying this technique for their mindfulness and they tend to give up as they feel they are doing it wrong if they cant achieve this.

Types Of Focus When Meditating

You are actually meditating when you catch yourself not meditating. If you are using your breath as a form of focus you would be breathing in and out through your diaphragm. You will be focussed on this task, paying particular attention to how you are doing this.

What will inevitably happen is you will forget what you are doing and your mind will wander onto other thoughts. Thoughts such as what you will do after you are finished or you will replay conversations in your head that you had with others. The act of Meditation occurs when you catch yourself thinking of these other items and not on the task at hand, which is your breathing. When you get back to the breathing and refocus on yourself, this is meditation.

Some people use other methods such as music with a certain beat, a chime or they may think of something like a certain colour to focus on. It does not matter what you decide to focus on but you need to catch yourself when you are not focused.

What Does Meditation Do

There are many studies out there that have shown that meditation does wonders for the body and the mind. Your focus, impulse control, and self-awareness improves. You will find that you will be able to manage stressors better whereas before they were a constant source of worry and anxiety. Your immune system improves along with your sleep. It can even help reduce the flight or fight response which has a massive source of negativity on our bodies when it is overactive.

Just like meditation helps the body to do all the above, CBD can also. They have found that using CBD has increased their level of focus and they were able to meditate and stay focused for longer. I have stated previously when people are using CBD some common feedback from them is

  • The fact that they can’t place their finger on it but they feel more content.

There is loads of anecdotal evidence to suggest this is the case and there are many studies too. Here and here are just two of them and they show that Cannabis and CBD could have a positive impact on your mind and body. I know from personal experience that this is the case.

A Good Place To Start When Learning How-To Meditate

If you are unsure of how to meditate or you feel a bit odd about starting the process, don’t. I have found that anyone who does this for at least 10mins a day can significantly improve their life. I challenge you to try this 10min guided meditation for a week and then tell me you do not feel much more relaxed after just one session. If you kept it up for longer you would notice more positive impacts on your life.

In a world where we are all plugged in and constantly on the go, we need to switch off and bring it back a bit. Meditation and CBD can help you scale back the negative parts of your life and allow you to focus on the positive aspects.

Moving Towards Mindfulness Routines And Self-care

Many of us are now moving towards doing more “Selfcare” and “Mindfulness Routines”. People are understanding more and more how their mental health, can in many ways, be more important than their physical. More are moving away from big Pharmaceuticals and moving towards other means of looking after themselves. In a lot of ways, I am thrilled to see Simon Harris and FG continually screw up our health system. If the GPs and doctors were not so overcrowded,  people would not look towards CBD.  Other means to help keep their body, spirit, and minds in peak health would be ignored. When “Holistic Medicine” is now being referred to as “Alternative Medicine” it shows how popular and effective this industry is. The Coronavirus has now hammered this home further as people look into alternative medicine. They are looking for help with their immune system, sleep, anxiety, and stress issues.

Preventing The Flu

It still makes me shake my head in disbelief when people don’t get what they do themselves when they are ill with the flu or they are sick. They will reach for and they-

  • Lemsip or Day And Night.
  • Hydrate more. Even add other things to their water like lemon etc
  • Drink hot teas with honey etc
  • Rest more and sleep more.

I do not get why we can’t see that prevention is better than cure every time.  What has Lemsip got in it at a high dose? Vitamin C. Here you have something that is pushed by big Pharmaceuticals in products you buy to help get you over the flu or cold and we could be freely taking it in more natural forms daily to help improve our health. From day one of this Coronavirus, it has been known that people are being treated with this in high doses of Vitamin C intravenously. For some reason, if the doctor doesn’t give it to you or it’s not bought from a chemist people won’t take it or believe it works.

Vitamins Your Health And Meditation

Why aren’t people taking Vit C daily along with Vit D, Zinz, and Magnesium to help keep their immune system on point all year round? Why do they continually wait until they are sick to use it and then they pay for it via big Pharma! When you go to the doctor they tell you to keep hydrated. You will hear them say “Take plenty of fluids”. There are various reasons why this needs to be done when you are sick however prevention is better than cure. The Stress Of The Years

The start of 2020 has been a bit of a disaster on many levels for so many. It has forced a lot of us to scale back and to find a new routine for our daily lives. Everyone has a unique understanding of what is a normal routine. My normal may seem hectic to you and your normal may seem hectic to others. Regardless of the standard, there is one thing we all have in common, whether you realise it or not, and that is the stress of adjusting to this new normal. We will all manage this stress differently and some will cope better than others.

The people amongst us who have a fast-paced life, more often or not, will be struggling with this slow down. These people are so used to functioning at a high rate that when they do get a chance to relax or they are forced to they feel very uncomfortable and uneasy. Their brain is wired to be in this hight state of stress that when they come down they are literally in shock. They do not know how to deal with this feeling of doing nothing and it is extremely uncomfortable for them. Here is what you may notice with this type of person now.

What Is Stress

If they were doing anything at all to during their high paced lives, that they would have considered being relaxing, they are doing this now to an extreme also. An example of this would be exercise. They may have trained a few times a week for an hour or so but now they may be doing it twice as often and for longer periods. These people just can’t sit still and if they are not doing the above they are trying to do other things related to their jobs or their house is going to be super clean. This is justified to them as just wanting to keep busy however in reality, whether they can see it or not, they feel lost with their thoughts and the lack of the hormone cortisol has their bodies in a state of shock.

Asking them to sit still or read a book is like asking them to chop off an arm. They will tell you that they just like to keep busy and on the go. You have seen them in this pattern for so long that you have bought into this also. How ever you look at it I would suggest you try to look at it a different way and challenge yourself to relax. Never before have you been given an opportunity like this before where you can organise your work, life balance on your terms. This leads to the next point which is Meditation.

The Science Behind Meditation

Let’s look at how meditation is the ultimate form of self-care and how it can truly have a massive positive impact on your life. When I first heard of mediation I thought it was for hippies and it was pointless. I kept an open mind and the more I did it, the more I realized how beneficial it was. Meditation like CBD is becoming very common and there is research all over the world to show how fantastic it is for our short and long term health.

  • In 2008 a study was done to show meditation significantly reduced anxiety symptoms in people.
  • During 2011 a study showed brain activity increased in brain regions associated with controlling pain.
  • A 2013 study was done to show meditation significantly reduced the inflammatory response.
  • In 2014 a study was done on over 3500 people and it showed meditation help with their stress.
  • A 2015 study shown meditation can reduce pain more effectively than a placebo.

These are just a fraction of the facts behind how meditation could improve your life. Do you know someone who is negative all the time? Its been shown in a study that Yoga and meditation reduces this.

It is all over the place and all googleable why meditation and CBD go hand in hand in terms of wellness. They can reduce the stress hormone cortisol by 50% according to many studies such as this one HERE. This type of activity costs nothing and for many, this is why they don’t see it working. Big Pharmaceuticals have us thinking if it does not come from a doctor or a chemist it does not work. Society has us thinking if it is free it must be crap.  Why do we pay hundreds of Euros to reduce stress and tension by going to the gym and yet we won’t do something for free.

Meditation Can Be Difficult

The unknown can be difficult to get used and your first try at meditation may seem like a failure. You are not sure of what to expect from it, how you are meant to feel or if it is even working. These are are all normal internal feelings. No one learns to play the guitar or gets used to going to the gym the first time. There is a slow process to it and just like any other exercise or hobby, you will get out of it what you put in. Don’t ignore your body’s needs. You can see the external consequences of a broken leg and just because you can’t see the consequences of stress, that are internal, doesn’t mean they are not there. They need to be dealt with and treated.

Just remember, you can’t hurt yourself doing this. There are no negative side effects to this type of routine. Just start by finding a peaceful and quiet place where you can dull the lights. Embrace your breathe and be consistent with your new routine if you want to receive the awesome benefits CBD has to offer. As little as 10 minutes a day is all that is needed.

The Science Behind Breathing And Meditation

Is there any science behind breath and meditation and these two things are ways to help you heal naturally. These words “Breath” and “Meditation” have the same stigma attached to them as CBD when they are placed together. Fortunately, this is starting to change and social media has a lot to do with it. Many years ago we received our knowledge about illness from the TV, Gps, and doctors. They passed this word to our parents who then passed this onto us. In many ways, it was a form of programming and we knew no better.

Social media has a lot to answer for but in this regard, I am grateful for this invention. We now have access to other sources of information and we are able to question things for ourselves. I know the next paragraph may come across as somewhat of a conspiracy to some but for me, it is really a very factual sentence and statement.

You wouldn’t just get into a car and start to drive off straight away. You look for guidance and lessons on how to do this correctly. The same can be said here and the best place to start is with just as little as 10mins a day. Guided meditation is a great way to start as you will have someone talk you through this. Box breathing is a great way to start learning how to breathe and your breath plays a huge role in meditation.

The reactions to in the body both physically and mentally truly are amazing and the more you do these types of mindfulness routines the healthier you will get. CBD, just like your breath, is a part of your body’s makeup and is necessary for your life. Your body uses breathe and its own Cannabinoids (CBD) daily to survive, so why wouldn’t you use these means to enhance and improve your life. It can add years to your life and save you stress, anxiety, pain, and money.

More and more of us are looking to alternative medicine to help us heal. Guided Meditation Routines

We have touched on some of the basics of meditation and now it is time to start doing it. Meditation is for everyone and as we have spoken about already it is not as complicated as it may seem. You cannot do it wrong or hurt yourself so there is nothing to be afraid of. If you decide to try this then I suggest you create a routine with this. Just like you would do if you were going to the gym or for a run. Try and pick the same time each day that suits you. Anyone can spare 10 odd mins a day for themselves. Here we have plenty of meditation routines to suit everyone’s likes.

10 Minute Guided Meditation Routine

Today we will start with a quick 10-minute session. These can be done in whatever position you wish as long as you are comfortable. The main thing you need to focus on is the “Breath”. This is the basics of all meditation and it is what you can return to when your mind wanders off, and it will. This is what you should practice and get used to doing. I have placed two ten minute routines below for you. One with a female voice and one with a male voice. All the items I have placed up here I have used and these are two examples of what is referred to as “Guided Mediation”

A Few Quick Points On Meditation

  • Pick a place that is quiet and you can possibly make the room a bit duller ( Having a dark room is not a requirement )
  • Headphones will help reduce the distractions
  • Try to sit up straight, however, don’t worry too much about your posture and if you prefer to lie down, do.
  • Just listen to what is being said. It’s that easy and remember your breathing.

What Do I Need To Start Meditating?

  1. Time

    You need to set aside at least 10 minutes a day

  2. An Area Or Space

    This area should be quiet and free from distraction. Not so cold or warm that it bothers you. Somewhere you could possibly dim the lighting.

  3. Equipment Essentials

    You need a chair, mat if on the floor or a bed. Something you can relax on that wont make the process you comfortable so you are not distracted and fidgeting.

  4. Other Essentials

    CBD Oils to help further relax you and enhance the experience. Earphones or speakers to play guided meditation.

  5. Patience and Consistency

    The benefits of meditation and mindfulness do not happen overnight. You should be prepared to do these routines over a period of about 3 weeks to start getting and seeing the full benefits.

Above we spoke about how your breath was the foundation of meditation. It is used to help keep you focused and to bring you back when your mind wanders. I also spoke about the science behind your breath and if you understand this you will see why we are still focusing on this aspect of meditation. We first focused on finding a quiet place and making sure you were comfortable. The main purpose was to make you comfortable with being relaxed and alone. This may sound easy however many can find this feeling very strange. This is normal so please don’t be put off by those feelings if this was the case for you.

I wanted you to get used to these feelings along with the practice of focusing. We wanted to slow your thoughts down to a minimum and having someone talk you through this is one of the easiest ways. If you feel you need to practice this a bit more feel free to stay with the above two practices for as long as your wish and when you are ready you can take the next step. The two items posted above are the go two meditations I use often if I just want or need a quick 10 minutes to myself.

Counting While You Breathe

Now we are moving onto counting while you breathe. Today’s meditation is much quicker than the previous one. We are going to start getting you used to focusing more on your breathing and your breath. This will make sure you breathing deeply and slowly. I encourage you to start practicing breathing through your diaphragm (Stomach). We want you to reset the Fight or Flight Response. which in turn will lower your stress and have some amazing effects on your stress levels as disguised HERE.

Quick Review

The first few sections above would be considered to be the foundation for mediation. The breath is essential to meditation. You can always improve on these stages and you will over time if you keep at it. The next phase or type of meditation we would like to look at is the “Body Scan”.

Sleep Guided Meditation

The body scan can be used while you are sitting up however we are going to use this body scan lying down. We will use this to help relax our mind before bed and to help us to get to sleep faster. Before you get to bed there are a few things I would like you to consider. If you mind races and you are thinking about many things it can be very frustrating. I am sure if you are going to bed you want to sleep and I don’t think you are thinking about anything and everything because you want to. There are many reasons for this pattern to set in,  stress and anxiety are just two of them. The build-up of cortisol to the lack of melatonin are other factors.

One thing we can do just before bed to help settle the mind is to write down all the things we did during the day and all the things we must do tomorrow. Write down the bullet points of your these along with your to-do list. This will help you consciously and subconsciously to feel like you have placed anything undone to one side. This in conjunction with CBD and mediation are ways to further relax the mind and place you in a great position to get a good night’s sleep.

The Body Scan Meditation 10 Min Routine And CBD Oil

This can be done sitting or lying down and it can be done in as great or as little detail as you like. Your breath is still very important and you should start off with this practice. You can then incorporate your breath into the body scan technique during or after. For example, you could, complete half the body scan and go back to your breath or wait until the end. You could scan each body part and then return to concentrating on your breath.  When you have completed this, roll over and go to sleep. You can always repeat the process or do more breathing. The point is there is no hard and fast rule and you should do what you enjoy. Let’s start your Meditation Practice Part 3 and jump into the body scan. As always please ensure-

  • Your bedroom should be as dark as possible.
  • A colder room equals a better sleep compared to a warmer room.

Here we are adding another link in the chain. We must not forget about the other parts, especially the breathing so keep this in mind. Here we are trying to be in the moment. This may sound a bit odd to you however try to think of this as self-control. If you only ever master the above steps it is my opinion you will have made massive improvements in your life. Are you that person who just does or says things without thinking? Are you that person who gets worked up about stuff that has not even happened yet? Maybe your mind is always racing or you are always waiting for the person to finish talking so you can say your piece?

Practice Makes Perfect

By practicing this you will be able to slow down the above processes and be able to live in the moment. You will learn to feel the negative feelings and thoughts in a more constructive manner without judgment. As I said before one of the arts of meditation is catching yourself not thinking about what you should be thinking about and returning to that thought or the breath. With this session, I encourage you to just listen to the thoughts and feelings that come into your mind. Try not to push them away or get frustrated if the same ones come back. Just experience what is going on from the tingles you might get on your face to the feelings certain worries give you.

Grounding Meditation Routine And CBD

The exercise of returning to your breath if you lose focus should be coming easier now. If this is not the case for you, do not worry as it will come.  Being consistent will bring about the realisation that meditation is not that hard to do and it really can work.  When you take CBD, you may not fully understand how or why it works but after a while, you won’t care, as the only thing that matters is a positive feeling and affects you get from taking it.

If you are moving onto this stage you will have managed to master the first number of session. You can always improve on these stages and you will over time if you keep at it. There is no rush in moving onto this stage. If you feel you need to keep with the previous ones for a while. You go at your own pace and remember to enjoy the process. The next phase is about Grounding.

Night Terrors And Vivid Nightmares

Many will use this grounding exercise in nature. The lady I go to for Reiki uses this exercise to rid herself of the negative energy she has received from her practice. Others do it to re-energize and heal much like what you are about to listen to below. I have used it on many occasions to lower the panic levels and fear after a night terror or vivid nightmare. If you have ever suffered from night terrors you will know what they feel like. If you have not I would ask you to remember your worst nightmare and multiple it by 10. You may understand the overwhelming emotions that are present for someone.

It can be extremely hard to rid yourself of the panic and fear during one of these incidents. Many people will have to sleep away from their partners due to the thrashing that occurs during them. I have found myself on top of a partner just about to physically lash out. To this day I still grind my teeth, so much so, that my jaws hurt and talking or chewing is painful. The more you do them, the better they will work, and the more you will get out of them.

Different Method

I have used a version of grounding techniques but this one where visualisation of what I am grateful for is used to centre myself. My aim to think about what I have and how I am lucky and grateful to have these things in my life. This helps me to forget about what was just occurred and reduces the mental aspect of the situation. While I am doing this I am also pushing the heals of my feet into the floor. I will also transfer the weight to the balls of my feet and after a short period, my calves will feel tight. By doing this I am also making the experience into a physical one and the negative mental experience is reduced.

Once the overwhelming feelings have passed I can then take a drink of water, lie down, focus on my breathing, and do a body scan. I will take some CBD and in conjunction with the breath and body scan, I have been able to return to sleep. This, of course, took time to master but I am now somewhat in control of my nights and for those that are not you will understand how horrible this can be.

Grounding

The basics are the same and I can assure you that anyone who has taken the time to try meditation, in whatever form, has not regretted it.

The Ultimate Beginners Guide To The 7 Chakras

There is a reason why I left this part until now. If like me, you found the thought of meditation a bit strange and very hippyish then I don’t think you would read the following posts if they were first. If you have stuck with it and completed the above, I do not doubt that you are starting to see the benefits of meditation. Maybe you thought CBD Oil was a fade until you used it correctly. Energy

There is no denying that the world you live in and the universe we live in is made up of energy. There are things all around us that we can’t see yet science has told us that they are there and real. From Dark Matter that is located in space to Atoms that are in us and all around us. There are things we can’t see but they are there, real and have an impact. Have you ever walked into a room and felt like there is a bad vibe and then you find out there is a heated argument going on. This would be an example of the energy from their bodies flooding out and being picked up by you when you walk in.  Some would be more sensitive to this than others.

Dark Matter and Atoms play an unforeseen role in our lives. Chakras have a role and they exist to help maintain our health and balance within our bodies. As with CBD, I find it fascinating how many in society brush away the natural and easy to use for forms of synthetic and items of extreme expense. Expense, hard to get or use, equals valuable to many. These people have not even looked into it or tried meditation or CBD.

If It Is Stupid And It Works It Is Not Stupid

How can something free like meditation work so well on the body’s spirit and mind?

How could a Hemp or Cannabis plant have such a profound impact on the body’s spirit and mind?

Many people in the world believe the more things they have the better life is. They are like children with loads of toys that are never played with. The child doesn’t care about it until someone else has it or we go to throw it out. These people are usually very unbalanced in many ways. They are more than likely reading this thinking I am crazy. They are unwilling to have an open mind for various reasons and I am sure many have asked the above questions. Ironically these are the very people whos Chakras are all over the place. Unfrotuabetly, just as it is with CBD, these people will never look towards these types of methods until it is too late.

When you ask them about mediation they will say they haven’t got the time yet they can tell you about what has happened on the latest TV show. When asked why they can’t afford €50 or €100 odd a month for CBD they will tell you they are broke. These same people have money for the monthly hair appointment and are dying of a hangover where they spent €100 odd in one night. It is about priorities and whether you want to work from the outside in or the inside out.

Society Issues Towards Meditation And CBD

It is not necessarily our fault. Society does not make it easy. When you don’t conform with what is described as normal by the mainstream media you are classed as a hippy or weird. Going against the mainstream media and thinking for yourself means you will be labeled as a conspiracy theorist. Having independent thoughts is something that is not encouraged. Many in the world have a vested interest in making sure this thought process remains the same.

From day one when we go to school this type of programming starts. Stand in line, repeat after me, memorise this and don’t say that. We are all judged under the same standards even though it is known that we all learn differently and express ourselves differently.

Cash Is King

There is no money to be made in healthy people. If meditation and CBD help your body spirit and mind there will be many there to put it down for obvious reasons. This in conjunction with the sheep mentality means these items have an uphill battle. Getting them to see them as viable alternatives to the pharmaceutical approach is difficult.  Stress is the number one killer in the world. Cortisol has a massive impact on our health from heart attacks to anxiety. Yet the first line of attack is often the GP and a pill from a chemist. There is so much science behind meditation and increasingly more on cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system to show it can have a significant impact on your stress levels. These methods could even help prevent poor health physically and mentally.

An Open Mind For Meditation

The point for stating all the above is to try to persuade you to have an open mind about the 7 Chakras and to not just brush them off as a myth.

  • What if you tried the last 5 practices and you found yourself more content?
  • If you took CBD correctly and you saw improvements in your life, what if?
  • What if you took on looking at the 7 Chakras and how to heal them and it worked?

Would it be so bad to feel happier inside, less stressed and having that feeling of truly not caring what others think? Many are coming around to alternative medicines and practices. They are moving away from the GP’s and Pharmaceuticals as the first line of defence. When they use these methods they find they don’t have to move away from them anyway as it has come about that they don’t need them as much. So let us move on and dive into the 7 Chakras and look at how they work within our bodies.

What Are The 7 Chakras?

Chakra means wheel since the energy or life force that we have is rotating. There are 7 centers within each one of us that start from the base of your spine and move up to your head. Many of us would have heard of the 3rd eye which is one of the 7. These circles are always spinning and how fast or slow they spin has consequences for us. They have their colors, symbols and each one affects us differently. Understanding their colors, where they are located and how they interact with us will help you interact with them and maintain balance.

The Root Chakra

This is called Muladhara which means “ROOT“. It is associated with support and its role is to connect you to the energy of the earth or grounding. Its role is to give security in physical and emotional means. It has a RED color, located at the base of our spins near our tail bone and it goes up just below your belly button.

If you have feelings of anxiety and are on edge this is a sign that this Chakra is overactive.  This root chakra gets a lot of use as we are constantly trying to make sure we have money, safety, and a roof over our heads. When this is not balanced you may have digestive issues and your back will be sore a lot. People who are stressed or around stressful situations and or people will have issues with this Chakra too.

Like all the Chakras many people have suggestions on how to help heal them. We have touched on how to heal it with grounding in the previous post. Visualisation plays a large role in dealing with them all. I approach this and all Chakras by first thinking about the color spinning in its location.  I aim to have it spinning where the circle is controlled in a smooth motion and it is not spinning too fast or too slow.

The Circle

I think of the circle as being fluid-like with a paint-like texture and the energy is in the form of this fluid. As the circle spins the fluid is being pushed from its center to the outer edges and slips off the spinning circle. It then dissolves and vapourises when it comes away from the spinning circle after a short distance. The source of the paint is coming from the center of the spinning circle and is constantly pouring out from here. If the circle spins at the correct speed the paint flows off the edges of the spinning circle evenly and vapourises all around in an even manner. The red coming from the center flows out in balance to what is being lost form the edges. What is being lost from the edges vapourises just before it interacts or interferes with the next Chakra and we have balance.

The circle spinning too fast means the red will wash off at the edge too fast before the paint can come from the center and keep balance. The red is flowing away in a larger volume and as a result, it travels further and doesn’t disappear quickly enough. It interacts with the other Chakras around it and can overwhelm the nearest one. It spread is uneven and the action is deemed as overactive.

If the wheel is to slow it does not move away from the center to the edges and builds up in the circle which can slow down the circle. This means the paint drips off the circle in clumps built up and is seen as being underactive.

Maintaining Balance. Meditation Practice

Slow It Down

To slow down your root chakra make sure you are taking care of your own needs physically and more so the mental needs. Look to manage your stress and the negative triggers in your life. Finding the correct work-life balance is important here as is your definition of a healthy life. This could mean leaving work at work or avoiding the negative people and situations in your life. You need to spend more time with mediation and being comfortable with your thoughts. When you are working on this Chakra picture slowing the spinning cycle down.

Speed It Up

If your head is in the clouds and you are daydreaming all the time your needs may be met or you just don’t have the motivation to care if they are not. Someone who has an underactive root chakra can show signs of depression. You feel you don’t want to connect with people and your focus is gone. I think it is easier to ramp up this chakra through exercise, being with nature, and getting more fresh air. As with any of the situations, meditation, CBD, and consistency help a lot.

The Balance

You can decide whether this is a negative or a positive thing but as you become more centered you will start to move away from the negative. Negative situations will be avoided as you just don’t want it to mess up the peace you have found. You will drift away from negative people you once moved with or towards. Joy and happiness will come from other things that are more simple and activities like drinking loads of alcohol etc are no longer appealing.

You give more, get more from giving and this is natural to you. It can be a very hard feeling to explain to others especially if they are at the other end of the spectrum and you may be perceived as I described above. When you are in balance, you won’t care either way. You will be humble in that feeling without judgment of those who are not in the same headspace. Using the Root Chakra symbol and stone while you work in this area can also help.

The Sacral Chakra Meditation Practice

Review

We looked at how the world was made up of energy and matter. We used this to show how the chakras were relevant and then we found out that there are 7 Chakras. I explained the first one and we looked at how the ROOT CHAKRA interacted with us. We looked at two ways of visualising the root chakra. One was by means of it being a light that fades or brightens depending on whether it is in balance or not. The other method was like a wheel that spins too fast or too slow if in balance or not. Now we will move onto the 2nd Chakra.

The Sacral Chakra

This is called Svadhishana which means “The Place Of The Self”. It is associated with your identity and how you see yourself as a person or human. It plays a huge role in helping you to enrich your life. Your creativity is said to come from here. The life force that is here helps you to enjoy the journey of life while you are on earth. It pushes you to enjoy life and it helps you to enjoy the pleasurable things you like doing from your favourite hobby to sex.

It takes on a warm orange color and the sacral is located just below the belly button or navel.

Balanced

When this is balanced you are able to enjoy the things you like to do without overdoing them. Your emotions are centred and you are calmer with a sense of fulfilment as food, intimacy, and the activities that inspire you enjoyable.

Underactive

This can make it difficult for you to connect with your emotions. You may find yourself being numb to the things in life that you should be getting enjoyment from. Your sex drive could be low and you may often feel very down. To other people, you may come across as cold and distant. You need to ramp this up by trying to look at the routes as to why you are feeling like this. It can be hard to do however the simple things like exercise, CBD and meditation with this Chakra could improve the situation.

Overactive

People with this type of sacral chakra tend to be very emotional and somewhat over-sensitive. They tend to enjoy things that make them feel guilty sometimes and gluttony and addiction are present. They are often restless and they can’t sit still. You need to lower this down by taken away the energy and drawing it to your heart. While you meditate on this you can look at dealing with the guilt you may be feeling from overconsumption. Asking yourself “If what you are doing really does give you joy and if the pros of your actions outweigh the cons of them”.

Solar Plexus Chakra

This is called Manipura which means “Shining Gem”.  It is associated with confidence, will power, self-esteem, and vitality.  It plays a role in guiding you along the path in life you want.  In times of need, this helps you to rise above the challenges you are facing and it helps you take responsibility for your life.

This chakra takes on a vivid golden yellow colour and is located just above the navel and below your sternum/heart.

Balanced

When this is balanced you will find you are confident with a clear direction of where you are and where you want to be. You can feel like you are truly being your authentic self and you are not afraid to show this or improve on this. You are more present and in tune with your body and nature.

Underactive

When this occurs your confidence tips and your decision-making process suffers. You may find you are questioning yourself and your self-worth can low. Simple tasks can seem hard to complete When your solar plexus chakra is underactive, you may be experiencing a sense of lack of control with no purpose in life. CBD and meditation with this Chakra could improve the situation.

Overactive

When too much energy comes from here you can feel overwhelmed or overstimulated. You can act with come across as being stubborn. Being too aggressive and moody are also signs.

Heart Chakra

This is called Anahata which means “Unhurt”. It is the easiest of all the Chakras to understand. We have often said it to describe people. They can have a kind heart or a cold heart.  This Chakra is associated with love, compassion kindness. It is the center of all the chakras and is said to connect us to heaven and earth.

This chakra takes on a fresh green colour and is located at the heart.

Balanced

When this is balanced you will have an open heart you will find it easier to love yourself and others. Healing traumas of the emotional kind may be easier for you.

Underactive

When this occurs you will be closed off to others and you may take things very personally. You will not allow anyone to get close to you and it takes a very long time for you to trust. You can feel a bit lost about yourself and your body. Your self-worth can be very low Life can send us a lot of heartbreak as a way to teach us lessons about ourselves and the world around us. But, it can be hard to not take those lessons personally.

Overactive

When the heart chakra becomes overactive you can become very needy and love is more like a drug that we need to feel all the time. We can make unhealthy choices in order to try and feel this. You might also put the needs of others above your own and interpersonal relationships suffer regularly.

Throat Chakra

We are on the 5th Chakra which is the Throat Chakra. We have 2 more to go.

This is called Vishuddha which means “Very Pure”. This is the source of your voice. From a physical standpoint, we all know your voice comes throat and voice box. The source of energy for your voice comes from the Throat Chakra and plays a role in how you respond to others and how others respond to you. It is the source of truth and helps you express charity to others.

It has a light blue colour and is located between your collar bone.

Balanced

If this in balance you will often feel like you were able to say the right thing, at the right time for the situation that was in front of you. It is heavily tied to all the other chakras and they can influence the throat chakra. Having this in balance will, therefore, have a big impact on you and the people around you.

Underactive

If your confidence is low or you are being put down a lot we can react in a negative way. Your willingness to use your voice is lowered and you can become very shy and introverted. You can struggle to express how you are feeling and getting your point across becomes difficult. It is said that you can have physical symptoms such as an upset stomach as the negative energy and feeling get swallowed and push down.

Overactive

We can often be obnoxious and rude as we try to push our opinion and voice onto others. If you feel you are being ignored you will often try to push others by becoming louder. You may have a hard time listening to other opinions.

The Third Eye Chakra Meditation Routine.

Third Eye Chakra

This is called Ajna which means “Beyond Wisdom”. This is the source of your spiritual connection and psychic abilities. People with strong intuition or who have extrasensory perception would have a strong, balanced third eye. Even if you have no interest in this side of things keeping this chakra balanced is extremely important.

The third eye helps to open up your Pineal gland which is an extremely powerful part of our brains. This can be activated to a higher level and once done it can allow you to receive information from sources other than our five senses.

It is Indigo in colour and is located between your eyebrows.

Balanced

When balanced your feel, balanced. You feel at peace and as you are receiving information from your 6th sense you feel at peace with decisions and the path you are on. You are content with what you have and the obstacles of life are not so burdensome as this is the way things are meant to be. You will subconsciously and consciously avoid negative places, situations, and people as don’t want this balance to be disrupted.

Underactive

When you feel lost you are more prone to being led and this is a sign of an underactive chakra. There is a lack of purpose and feelings of wanting something else. This feeling comes from deep within. You have never truly fulfilled no matter what you do. Most of society looks poorly upon meditation and society as a whole does not believe in the development of your soul or finding inner peace. As a result, many are closed off and are in a state of constant stress as they look for that something they will never find in the material world.

Overactive

If your 3rd eye is overactive then it is most likely that you are working with this chakra too much. You most likely work a lot with Reiki, tarot reading, and other paranormal activities. Healing this through grounding or meditation would be a requirement of your daily cleansing routine to avoid this. Most of us would not find ourselves in this situation and we are not overwhelmed by human experiences.

The Crown Chakra

This is called Sahaswara which means “Thousand Petaled”. This is a source of pure consciousness energy. It gives you a connection to the universe and hat is going on around you. Your intuition is connected here and it allows you to be guided and helps you understand your life and how you fit into the world and the universe.

This consciousness energy is all around us and everything. You can be drawn to other people, places, or opportunities or repelled. Just like the energy that is in a magnet. You can’t see the forces but you feel the pull or repulsion.

It has a clear purple color and is located at the centre of the top of your head.

Balanced Crown Chakra

 This is one of the hardest Chakras to balance. It has strong connections to all the other Chakras and if balanced it will help align and balance all the other Chakras. While you search for the perfect balance of this it could be compared to trying to find the perfect Zen or Nirvana.

Your thinking and thought process will vary significantly from others. You will have achieved another kind on “Knowing” and it is the journey of trying to get tho this point that gives you the balance your soul requires.

Underactive Crown Chakra

An underachieve Crown Chakra is common as not many of us will attempt the journey of trying to reach this balance. Spiritual and personal development are things many place little relevance to in today’s society. This means many of us find it hard to understand our purpose in life and true connections to the people around us are hard to achieve.

Overactive Crown Chakra

This is extremely uncommon and many would say impossible. Your mind and perception of reality would extremely out of sync. Your existence in the real world can’t be overcome with this type of energy as you would no longer be in a physical form.

What is Meditation?

It is a technique or practice that is done to allow the mind and body to get to and maintain its natural balance. People will carry out mindfulness practices or routines to achieve this. They can focus the mind on a particular thing such as your breath, an object, activity, or thought. You are training the mind to become aware and focus on one thing or task and to clear out or forget everything else.
If you stray away from this one task the idea is to catch yourself and return back to that task. The art of focusing on one thing and catching yourself when you are not is when the meditation occurs.

What Are The Benefits Of Meditation?

Is Meditation Not Just The Same As Relaxing? 

No, as when you are relaxing your mind is not switched off. Your heart rate may lower but you are still thinking about other things. Right now while you are reading this you are thinking about other things like the stuff you want to do later. Reading a book is relaxing however you are still visualizing the story and emotions are still drawn up. It is like your body is relaxed but your soul and subconscious are still working. Meditation truly is full relaxation.

When Is The Best Time To Meditate?

Many people will say that morning is the best time due to the fact you are less stressed and there is less going on for you. This would be the case for many people. Others would say do it at night as you are more likely to have a better night’s sleep. I would suggest that the more advanced you get at it there is really no set time needed. You do what suits you and what works for is the times when I am actually stressed or tired. Just do what suits you and enjoy the benefits.
